today the marco island painters painted at the Hilton. I painted the chickee area. We then had a silent auction and were invited back again next year. what a beautiful day it has been. it has been a pleasure to meet and paint with all my old buddies again. we are all growing on on our journey of life. Iam blessed.

Today I received a copy of the Cheyene Artists Guild Newsletter.  What an unusual way of letting me know my painting Proud Heritage was awarded the Peoples' Choice vote.  Unusual to me, but any method of notification of kudos is great by me. 

One way to have color harmony in a painting is through toning your canvas. When you do this allow the toned color to show thru in small amounts throughout the canvas.

I finished two paintings today.  One is a commission and the other is my own concept.  It was very interesting to complete the commission.  I will be posting a picture of it on this site if my client gives me permission to do so.

Here is my own concept.  I call it "A Moment in Time".  It is a scene I observed on the Oregon coast many years ago.  The painting is 16x20 and is oil on canvas.
